A Systematic Study of 7 MHz Greyline Propagation Using Amateur Radio Beacon Signals

نویسندگان

چکیده

This paper investigates 7 MHz ionospheric radio wave propagation between pairs of distant countries that simultaneously lie on the terminator. is known as greyline propagation. Observations amateur beacon transmitters recorded in Weak Signal Propagation Reporter (WSPR) database are used to investigate times day signals were observed during year 2017. The WSPR network consists thousands automated and observers distributed over globe. a very useful resource for science it offers date time at which path was available two stations, well their precise locations. provides first systematic study grey-line New Zealand/Eastern Australia UK/Europe. shows communications predominantly made from United Kingdom (UK) Zealand around both sunset sunrise times, whereas UK, communication links occurred mainly UK hours. lack observations particularly evident summer. same pattern found Eastern Italy surrounding regions Europe. asymmetry reception could possibly be due increase electromagnetic noise across Europe summer afternoon/evening thunderstorms.

An Amateur 900 MHz Spread-Spectrum Radio Design

System design principles and high-level design details are described for a new spreadspectrum radio design for the 900 MHz. Amateur band. The radio is designed to provide a 10-base-T interface as the data port, and is designed to provide transport of IP-based data. It is planned to provide both stand-alone and fully-networked hub configurations. The design is based on Frequency-Hopped Spread Sp...

Radio Propagation Modeling on 433 MHz

In wireless network design and positioning it is essential to use radio propagation models for the applied frequency and environment. There are many propagation models available for both indoor and outdoor environments; however, they are not applicable for 433 MHz ISM frequency, which is perfectly suitable for smart metering and sensor networking applications. During our work, we gathered the m...

A comparison of indoor radio propagation characteristics at 910 MHz and 1.75 GHz

There has recently been much deliberation regarding whether indoor radio communications systems should operate in the 900 MHz band, or in the 1.7 GHz band. However, there are no propagation results available in the literature which compare indoor channel characteristics in the two bands. This paper presents the results of temporally and spatially distributed wideband (impulse response) propagat...
